THE TABLESPREAD FROM THE HEAVEN
PROPHET Eesa (………………….) was the last of the prophets sent to the banu israil who had distanced themselves from the teachings of their religion as contained in the torah which Allah had revealed to prophet musa (……………………………) Allah gave sayyidina eesa (…………………………..) miracles to support his prophet hood and allah taught him the book, wisdom, the torah and the injil.
He molded clay in the form of birds and blew into them so life came into them at Allah’s command. He also revived the dead, gave sight to the blind, cured the Leper at allaha’s command and with his leave. In spit of that very few jews believed in his messengership. Those who believed were called the Hawari (disciples) they helped sayyidina eesa (………………) against the jews.
Once the hawari were with sayyidina eesa (………………….) in the desert and they were fasting but could not find proper shelter and food, they asked him if allah could send to them a tablespread from the heaven. He advised them to fear allah, if they were believers. He said that they should not make such demands last they be but to trial. They confirmed. Their belief in alllah and in his messengership, but they asked for the table spread that their hearts may get peace and their belief may be strengthened. So, he prayed to allah for it.
Allah accepted his prayer and delicious food alighted from heaven. They ate from it and, when other people learnt of it, they too become believers.
