THE COMPANION OF THE PIT

THE COMPANION OF THE PIT

ALLAH says in the qur’an in surah al-buruj verses 1 tro 10:
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….-)
“By the heaven with its constellations.by the promised day, by the witness and that which is witnessed, perish the companions of the pit! Of the fuel-fed fire, when they sat around it, and they were witnesses to what they did wiyh the believers. And they avenged them not except for this, that they believed in allah, the mighty, the praised, to whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. And allah is witness over everything. Surely those who persecute the believing men and the believing woman, and then repent not, for them shall be the chastisement of burning.”
There was a cruel king near yemen 9over a territory there) he did not believe in allah and did not respect his messengers. He was cruel to his subjects.

He had friend who was a sorcerer and who served him all his life. One day he confided to the king that since he was growing old, it might not be possible for him to warn the king of future events. So, if he sent to him a young boy, he would train and teach him sorcery so that he would carry on informing the king of future events.
Hence, the king ordered his ministers to search for an intelligent boy. When they found him, he was sent to the sorcerer. The boy began to go to him every day. On the route, a monk resided. He worshipped only one god ascribed no partners to him. They boy stopped over at his place one day and put some questions to him. The monk enlightened he said, “my son, allah created mankind. We must worship him and not ascribe partners to him. We must obey him.” The boy wanted to know more but the monk asked him to come on the next day. He then went to the sorcerer.
After that, this becomes the boy’s daily routine. He visited the monk before going to the sorcerer. One day, he come across a savage beast that blocked the path of all people. The boy decided to verify whether the sorcerer or the monk was true. He picked up a stone and prayed to allah, “if the monk is true and dearer to you than the sorcerer then let me know by eliminating this beast.” So saying, he flung the stone at the beast. It his beast killing it. So, the boy knew that the monk was dearer to allah then the sorcerer.
He narrated what had happened to the monk who said, “you have excelled me in merit, today. But, remember that allah will subject you to a trial if you fall into a trial do not tell anyone about me.” Allah enabled the boy to cure many illnesses, like leprosy, blindness and dumbness. People resorted to him and gained cure.
The man believed in allah who cured him. When he was in the king’s he disclosed to him that allah had cured him. The king asked him, “is there a god other than me?” he said, “my lord and yours is allah.” The king sent him to prison and tortured him till he disclosed about the boy. The boy was brought before him. He asked if he had gained enough proficiency in sorcery as to be able to cure the sick. The boy said, “I give cure to no one. Allah is the one who cures.”
The king sent him too prison and tortured till he revealed the monk who was summoned and orderedto give up his religion and become an idol-worshipper. He refused. So, the king ordered that his neck should be severed, as was the courtier of the king executed. But, the boy did not surrender.
Rather, his faith becomes stronger. The king ordered the he sold be thrown down frame the top of a mount ion when he was taken there, he prayed to allah to preserve him from their mischief. So, before they could throw him down, the mouton chook and those king’s men themselves fell down but not the boy. He came back to the king who was surprised and asked him about his own men. The boy spoke with confidence that allah had protected him over everything.
The king than ordered that he should be taken in a ship and thrown in the middle all the sea. Again, he prayed as before. Allah caused all others to drown but the boy was unhurt and returned to the king. He told the king that allah had preserved him from the king’s men, saying, “you cannot kill me unless you do as I say. The king aske
d, “what is that?” he said, “assembly your subject around the palace, bind me to the trunk of a tree and take ain at me after saying “in the name of allah, lord of this boy. You will be able to kill me in this way
”the king did as said and shot the arrow after repeating, “in the name of allah, lord of this boy.” As the arrow hit him the boy died. On that instant, everyone exclaimed, “we believed in the lord of this boy!”
They recited the kalimah (…………………) there is no god but allah) one of the king’s men said, “this is what we feared. We were fighting against this belief and this has happened.” The king was enraged. He s deep pit dug in which a fire was kindled. He asked his police to bring all men near the fire and however insists on believing in the boy’s lord should be thrown into it. Indeed, none of them retracted from belief in Allah. They died willingly.
They had full faith in Allah he will bestow on them his favors. He will grant those gardens as wide as the earth and heaven together. Their blessings would be unending.
