PROPHET YUNUS
ALLAH SENTayyidina yunus (………………) to his people to invite them to worship allah alone and to give up idol worship however, they persisted in their evil ways. They asserted that they would not give up what their ancestors had been worshiping and they called sayyidina yunus (…………………….) insane or bewitched. Prophet yunus (……………………) told them that he had conveyed the message to them and shown them evidences and sing and, if they did not believe, they will get allah’s punishment. They refused to believe and ven made fun of sayyidina yunus (…………..).
Finally, having lived among them for a length of time and invited them to allah’s worship, sayyidna yunus (………………….) decided to bid them farewell. He had just departed from them when the heaven was covered with clouds, the atmosphere was dense and violent winds blew. Darkness spread all over the people perceived signs of impending punishment they were worried and searched for sayyidina yunus (………………….) to confess to him their mistake and to express regret and repentance. But, he could not be found. They wished to declare their belief and to request him to pray to allah to the punishment. When they did not trace him, they prayed to allah directly to forgive them. They came out in the open and prayed their hands and weeping Allah accepted their prayer and removed the punishment that was almost on them. They came back to their homes and began to worship Allah alone.
As for sayyidina yunus (……………..) he reached the sea-shore. There he found a ship and boarded it. Suddenly, they sea became stormy. There was lightening and heavy rain.
The waves rose high and dropped into the ship almost drowning it. The crew shouted that the storm was unusual for that time and said that their goods were angry, for, someone among the passengers was a sinner to find him out, they drew lots, the name of sayyidina yunus (……………………..) was drawn
Sayyidna yunus (………………….) was sure that it was Allah’s will so, he threw himself into the sea at Allah’s command, a large fish swam speedily towards him and swallowed him unharmed he was inside its belly and the fish took him to the bottom of the sea. He was trapped in three layers of darkness: that of the fish’s belly, that of the sea and that of the night. Death was looming overhead unless Allah had mercy on him. He occupied himself in remembering Allah and in making this prayer:

“There is no good but you. You you are glorified. I have been among the wrongdoers. “ (surah al-anbiya verses 87)
Not even a moment passed without his making dhikr and tasbih. This swept through the belly of the fish, water of the sea and the seven heavens to the throne of the compassionate. Who accepted his preyer he commanded the fish to came to the surface of the water and drop sayyidina yunus (…………………) at the shore of the sea. He was alone and weak and felt the sun’s hot rays on his body allah caused a pumpkin tree to grow near to him so he sat in its shade and ate its fruit till he regained strength. He made a prostration of gratitude to allah who rewealed to him that he must return to his people he obeyed the command and come back to them to find them as believers.
Allah says in his book in surah yunus verse 98:

“Then why was there not a town that believed, so that its belief might have profited it, except the people of yunus? When they believed, we removed from them the chastisement of degradation in the life of this world, and we gave them comfort for a while.”
