PROPHET NUH

stories of the quran for the children

PROPHET NUH
In the ancient times, there were five saintly men. They were: wadd, suwa, yaguth, ya,ub and nasr. They mingled with the people who loved them dearly and sought guidance from them. When these righteous men died, the people suffered a great setback. One of them suggested to the masses that they should cast statues of these god- fearing men to retain their memory. The masses welcomed the idea and built the images. As years passed by and people replaced each other in this fleeting would, their successors did not remember that the images were built only as remembrance of pious men. The devil misled them and they began to seek nearness to these holy men and gradually gave up worship of Allah to worship the statues.
Allah, the exalted, sent his prophet, nuh (………,)
To them to bring them out of idol, worship and the resultant darkness to the light of faith. He cautioned
Them:
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..-) “O my people worship Allah. You have no other god but him. I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful day.” (Al-a’raf, 59)
He continued to invite them with wisdom and insight. He asked them to abandon disbelief and idol- worship and return to worship Allah alone without partner. He presented sound arguments in support of his call and in evidence of Allah’s power and unity. He said:
(…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………-)
“what is wrong with you that you do not place hope in Allah
For kindness seeing that he has created you in different stages? Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens one above the other, and ma ade the moon a light in their sun as a lamp? And Allah had produced you from the earth growing (gradually). In the end, he will return you into it (the earth), and raise you forth (again)? And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet that you may go about therein, in spacious road. “(surah nuh, verses 13 to20) only the intelligent responded to him positively while all the other people stuck to their idolatrous ways. They persisted in denying him and said
(…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………)
“He is no more than a man like you: his wish is to
Assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished, he
Could have sent down angels: newer did we hear such a
Thing among our ancestors of old.”
In fact, they invited other people too to persist on
The misguided path. They said:
(………………………………………………………………………………….
“never forsake your gods, and newer forsake wadd, yaghuth, ya’uq
And nasr.” (surah nuh, verses 23)
The prophet (………..)Showed patience. At the
Same time, he continued to call the people to Allah the,
Secretly and publicly, by day and night. He tried to
Grow in them a desire to obey Allah and a longing to
Seek his rewards and bounties. He said:
(……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………-)
“Prey to your lord for forgiveness. He is the forgiving. He will cause the heavens to rain upon you in abundance, and will help you with riches and sons, and will cause gardens to grow for you, and will cause rivers to flow for you.”(surah nuh, verses 10 to 12)
His people, however, said:
(…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………-)
“WE see you only as a man like ourselves. And we see that only the meanest of us follow you. They are poor in judgement. And we do not find any merit in you (all) above us. Rather, we think that you are liars.”
(surah hud, verse 27)
In fact, they threatened to kill him and those who
Followed him
(………………………………………………………)
“Should you not stop, o nuh, you will surely be stoned.”
(Ash-shu’ara, 116)
Prophet nuh ……………… and the believers with him were not overawed. Rather their faith became stronger. He preached to them for nine hundred and fifty years, but only a small band of men believed in him. The majority, however were fed up and they challenged him:
(…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………-)
“o nuh, you have disputed with us and disputed to a great extent. So bring foth what you promise us if you are of the truthful ones.” (surah hud, 32 )
This daring grieved him. In spite of that, he continued to preach to them till Allah’s decree caught up with them.
(……………………………………………………………………………………………………………-)
“None of your people shall ever have faith but those who have believed already. So do not be grieved by what they do.”(surah hud, 36)
He submitted to Allah’s judgment. When he was sure that his will is being enforced, he raised his hands in prayer:
(……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………-)
“O lord, do not spare even one house of the unbelievers on earth. Surely, if you leave them, they will mislead your bondsmen and only sinners and unbelievers will be born to them.” Surah nuh, 27)
Allah accepted the prayer of his prophet (…………….,) and commanded him to build a large ship in which he must board pairs of birds, animals and everything of the universe. When the ship was built, he was asked to board it with those who had believed in him.
When they were building the ship, the disbelievers made fun of him. They laughed that a ship was being built where there was no trace of river or a sea. He only said:
(……………………………………………………-)
“If you mock us, then we shall also mock you just as you do to us.”
(surah hud, verses 38)
When the time was up, prophet nuh (…………..)Made all the pairs whom he had assembled to board the ship. And, he called his family members and the other believers:
(……………………………………………………………………………………..-)
“Embark on it! With the name of Allah shall it travel and anchor. Surely. My lord is the most forgiving, the most merciful.” (surah hud, verse 41)
Allah commanded the heaven and the earth. So, the heaven poured down rain and the earth threw out all its water. Gradually, it began to rise. A same time, the voice of the complainants rose to a high pitch. The son of prophet nuh (……………) was among those who had not believed. He saw his son trying to avert drowning, so he called him to embark with them and not remain with the disbelievers, but he did not budge. He said that he would climb a mountain that will save him from the water. He said to his son:
(………………………………………………-)
“Today none can rescue from the command of Allah except him on whom Allah has mercy.” (surah hud, verse 43)
The high waves engulfed him. On seeing this, prophet nuh(…………)prayed :
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….)
“o my lord, surely my son is from my family and indeed your promise is true. You are the best of judges.” (surah hud, verse 45)
He got a prompt reply from Allah:
(……………………………………………………………………………
……………………………………………………-)
“O nuh, he was not from your family. His actions were certainly incorrect, so do not ask me about that of which you have no knowledge. I advise you not to be of the ignorant.” (surah hud, verse 46)
Prophet nuh (…………..)Submitted to the will of his lord and pleaded:
(…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..-)
“My lord, I seek your Protection from asking you about things of which I have no knowledge. If you do not forgive me and do not have mercy on me, then I will be among the losers.” (surah hud, verse 47)
The earth and the heaven received their
Command:
(………………………………………………..)
“Earth, swallow you water and o sky, stop!” (surah hud, verse 44)
The water subsided and the ship rested on land. Allah said to his prophet (……..):

(…………………………………………………………….-)
“O Nuh, disembark with peace from us and blessings upon you and upon those people with you.”(surah hud, verse 48)
In this way, Allah saved prophet nuh (………..)And
The believers and, he let the unbelievers’ .drown.

THE AAD

stories of the quran for the children

THE AAD

The aad were an ancient people living on the Arabian Peninsula. Allah had bestowed on them many bounties: wealth and children and an unmatched strength. He also gave them the light of knowledge. So, they ought to have been grateful to Allah, worshiped him and not associated. Anything with him. However, they were disobedient, disbelieving, rebellious and proud. They boasted that no one was as strong as they were, forgetting that Allah was stronger than them. He had created them.
They had built strong castles and forts. They were joyous at being perfect in various arts and at their strength.
They were under an illusion that they would occupy their castles and forts forever and it never crossed their minds that every structure must cave in one day. They continued to go deeper and deeper in fantasy and faithlessness. They even refused to believe in life after death and in reckoning on being resurrected. They believed only in life and death and being destroyed by time.
Their mutiny and rebellion led them to idol-
Worship, though idols can neither harm nor profit. It is Allah’s practice that he does not punish a people unless he has sent to them his messenger first. This is as he says in surah al-asra, verse 15.
Accordingly, he sent to the add, hud (……………………) as
His prophet to give, them glad tidings and to warn them.He
Was sent to guide them on the straight path and toworshipof Allah alone
So he called on them to fear Allah and to obey him. Kbits, they said that they found him in folly and a liar. He assured them that he was in no folly, but was Allah’s messenger to convey to them his message and that he was their well-wisher
Like Iall prophets, hud (……………) was also patient and never lost hope. He endured persecution; perhaps they might heed and reform. They insisted that they would not forsake their gods merely on his advice. When he expressed fear that they could be punished,
They challenged him to let them have the punishment if he was truthful. Their arrogance was at its peak.
Prophet hud (……………) warned them:
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….-)
“Indeed curse and wrath from your lord have already fallen on you. Do you dispute with me about mere names which you and your forefathers have named, concerning which Allah has sent down no authority? Then wait, I too shall be waiting with you.” (Al-a’raf, verse 71)
Allah’s chastisement on them commenced when they ceased to get rain. Their fields went dry so much so that their supply of milk too went dry. They faced a severe drought. One day, as they looked at the sky, hoping for rain-bearing clouds, they saw dark black clouds coming over them. They were overjoyed at the sight and shouted with joy that it would rain. Their joy was short-lived, however. That was not a cloud but a violent wind that blew for seven nights and eight days. It destroyed them and whatever belonged to them, sparing no one. Allah saved prophet hud the believer. Allah says:
(………………………………….)
“So they become such that nothing could be seen but their dwelling. (Al-ahqaf, verse 25)
Their pride destroyed them. They were under a misconception that they would abide in their castles for Ever. They forgot that Allah’s all powerful. He does what he will and has perfect power to give life, cause death and to punish.

THE SHE – CAMEL OF PROPHET SALIH
Allah says:
(……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..-)
“The Thamud belied (the truth) in their insolence when the basest of them uprose. The messenger of Allah, (salih) said to them, “it is the she-camel of Allah, so lather drink!” but they belied him And they hamstrung her, so their lord crushed them for their sin and leveled them (with the ground). And he fears not its consequence.” (Ash-shams
Verse 11 to 15)
The thamud lived in a fertile region of Arabia,
Among gardens and springs of water Allah had provided them abundant sustenance. The people cultivated fields and were expert builders. They had built large house both on plains and on mountains. They lived long in peace and blessing but were in grateful to Allah and were infidels and arrogant. They worshipped idols.
Allah sent to them prophet salih (…………..)to warn them of the consequences. He said
,

(……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………IU…………………………………………….-)
“O my people worship Allah; you have no god other than him. He brought you forth8 the earth and has made you dwell in it, so ask forgiveness of him, then repent to him. Surely, my lord is nigh responsive.” (surah hud, verses 617)
He continued to invite them to worship Allah alone and ascribe no partner to him. Only the weak gave a positive response to him, but the proud people distanced themselves from him and asked the believer if they were sure that prophet salih (……………………………………)
Was sent by his lord the poor people were very confident and assured them that they had faith in what he had brought. The former people reacted with a declaration of disbelief in him
Prophet salih (………………….) persisted in his call:
(…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………I…………………………………………………………………U……………………………………………………………………8………………………………………………………-)

“Surely I am to7 you a faithful messenger, so fear Allah and obey me. And I ask of you Xenon reward for it,’ my reward is only with the lord of the worlds. Will you be left Secure in what is here, in gardens and spring, and corn fields and date-palms of which the spat he are fine? And hew house out of the mountains exultantly, so fear Allahand obey me.” (surah shu-ara, 143 150)
This had no effect on them. They persisted in their ways and obstructed other people from the straight path. Rather, they accused salih (…………………………..) of falsehood and later of being bevitched. Then, they demanded that I he should present a miracle testifying to his truth.
Prophet salih (……………………….) prayed Allah humbly to help him and conform his mission with a miracle. Allah accepted his prayer and gave him a miracle.
A large she-camel emerged from the rocks of a mountain in full view of the people they had not seen the like of this she-c7amel ever before, nether as nether as large nor as beautiful. They were gripped in tripped fright. Some of them agreed that it was a miracle but some others refused toaccept it as a miracle and thought that that prophet salih (………………) had wrought magic.
He said to them that his was a sign of Allah for them and they should leave it alone to eat in the land and not hurt it otherwise Allah will give them a peninaful punishment.
Then Allah revealed to prophet salih (………..)That
He should tell the people that the she –camel will drink the water of their will one day exclusively while the will would be available to them and their animals on the next day when she would not drink from it he warned them that if they did not follow the arrangement, then Allah would punish them severely. Also, they should not hurt the she-camel. This is also stated in surah ash-shu”ara (verses 155 and 156)
Soon, they conspired to get rid of the she-camel. They picked some of their numbers to kill it. Thus, they put their conspiracy into action and the devil made it seem beautiful to them. In other words, they challenged Allah and his prophet salih (………………………………………………)
He said to them:
(………………………………………………………………..,,-)
“Enjoy yourselves in your dwelling-three days that are a promise not to be belied. (surah, hud, verse 65)
However, they remained immersed in their wrong ways and disbelief. They want so far as to conspire to kill prophet salih (…………..) Allah revealed to him that he should go away from there with his family members and other believers because he would punish them:
At the time Allah said that he would punish them, a loud shriek was heard from the heaven piercing their eardrums and a severe earthquake jolted the earth. They fell dead in their homes. Indeed, Allah spoke the truth:
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..-)
“So when our command came, we delivered salih and those who believed with him, by a mercy from us. From the degradation of that day surely your lord, he is the strong, the mighty, and the cry seized those who did evil so the lay prone in their dwellings, as if they never dwelt there behold! Surely thamud disbeliever in their lord Behold! Away with thamud (surah hud, verses 66 to 68)

PROPHET IBRAHIM
PROPHRT IBRAHIM (……………) was born among a people who worshiped idols. He grew up among them but Allah had preserved him from idol worship even in his childhood. His father, azar, used to mold and make idols which the people bought to worship. aazar, too, regarded the idols as gods. Allah revealed that ibraihm (…………) addressed his father very mildly and politely, saying:
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..-)
“O my father! Surely to me there has come the knowledge that which has not come to you, so follow me, and I shall guide you on a right path. O my father worships not Satan. Surely Satan is a Rebel AGAINST the compassionate. O my father, surely I fear that a chastisement from the Compass- sionate should afflict you, so that you become a friend to Satan.” (surah maryam, verses 42-45)
Aazar, on the other hand cautioned prophet Ibrahim (………………….) to desist from speaking against their gods otherwise he would stone him. He instructed him to go away from them for a length of time.
Prophet Ibrahim (………..)Heard his father’s threat patiently and with a large heart, saying:
(………………………………………………………….-)
“Peace be you soon shall I seek forgiven for you from my lord. Surely, he is ever gracious to me. “(surah maryam. 47)
He departed, regretting his father’s insistence on
Disbelief One day, later on, he tried to make his people see light and asked, “What are these idols to which you cleave?” (surah al-anbiya, verses 52)
They pleaded that their forefathers had been worshiping them, so they were following in their footsteps. He asked them if they heard their prayer or helped them in any way.
He vowed to himself that he would smash the idols. He found an opportunity when they want out to the fields and gardens outside their city to celebrate one of their eats. He went to the idols and found that they had placed plenty of food in front of their idols. He asked in amazement, “would you not eat?” then he broke the idols with the axe that he had brought, but he spared the biggest of them and placed the axe on its shoulder to make it appear that this one had eliminated the other.
When the people returned from their festivity, they entered the temple only to see the damage. They were dumbfounded and asked each other who could have done it. Some of them named the young man Ibrahim as saying something to the idols and that he had been ridiculing them about the idols. So they asked him if he had done it. He said
(……………………………………………………_)
“Nay, he has done it this, the big one of them, so ask them, if they ever speak.” (surah al-anbiya, verses 63)
The people were at a loss what they to say but muttered that he knew that they could not speak. So, they conceded that they were worshipping stones who could nether neither speak nor defend themselves. So, prophet Ibrahim (……………) asked them:
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….-)
“Do you then worship besides allay that which neither profits you nothing nor hurts you? Fie upon you and upon what you worship besides Allah! Do you then not understand?” (surah alnabiya, verse 67)
They had no answer to it. However their ego had blinded them to stick to their disbelief. They decided to get rid of sayyidina Ibrahim (…………….) they said:
(……………………………………………………………-)
“Burn him and help your gods, if you must do anything.”
(surah al-anbiya, verse 68)
They gathered plenty of wood on a very large piece of land and kindled a fire. Then they caught hold of sayyidina Ibrahim (…………………) bound him in a long rope and threw him in the midst of the fire. All the
(……………………………………..-)
“Allah is sufficient for me and he is an excellent guardian.” (See surah all-imran, verse 173 where it is in the plural from)
However, even before that Allah commanded the fire:
(…………………………………………………………..)
“O fire, be you coolness and safety for Ibrahim.” (surah al-anbiya, verse 69)
The fire could do no harm to him. It merely burnt the rope. Sayyidina Ibrahim (……………) walked out of it to the multitude who stood around to witness his burning.
They were all speechless when they saw the miracle before their eyes. In spite of that except for a few who embraced islam, most of them did neither accept the truth nor rejected their idols. Nimrud the king of their country (babel) was the foremost of the majority. He was not only an oppressor and an associate with gods, but he also laid claim to divinity. He summoned sayyadina Ibrahim (……………….) and asked him, “Who is allay to whom you call the people?” sayyidina Ibrahim (……..)Said that his lord is one who gives life and causes death Nimrud argued with sayyidina Ibrahim (………………) and said, “I give life and death.” He said that he would forgive one of the two prisoners in the prison and execute the other hence, “I too give life and cause death.” On hearing the foolish words, sayyidina Ibrahim (……………..)Presented him with a very sound evidence of Allah’s divinity he said that Allah brings the sun forth from the east, so let him bring it forth from the west. So he was confounded. Allah does not guide the evildoing people. This episode is presented in surah al-baqrah, verse 258.
Then, sayyidina Ibrahim (……………) wished to learn how Allah gives life to the dead. So, he asked Allah about it very humbly. Allah asked him if hat did not believe. He said promptly that he only wished that his heart may rest at ease. Allah instructed him to get four birds, slaughter them and cut them into small to pieces which he must throw on different hills. Then he must summon them and see how they come to life and return to him. This is recounted in verse 260 of al-baqrah.
Sayyidina Ibrahim (……………….) did as commanded by Allah. He observed that the various parts of the birds moved from their places, joined he with the other parts of the same body and received their soul back again to fly to him on his summons. He was at rest and fell down in prostration to Allah, the one the dominant, the giver of life and death.
Then, sayyidina Ibrahim (…………..) took his wife sayyidina sarah (………..) and set out for sham (which is Syria, palastine, Lebanon and Jordan). Here, he resumed his mission and preached the unit of Allah he invited the people to abandon polytheism and to worship gave him one Allah. Then, he went to Egypt. Before he departed from Egypt, after a short stay, fir ‘awn (pharaoh) many present and to his wife, sarah (……………) he present an Egyptian salave-girl by the name of hajra (…………….) (Hagar). Sayyidina Ibrahim (…….) had grown very old but they had no offspring, so sarah suggested that he should also marry hajrah (………) whereby Allah might give them a child. So, he did marry her, and Allah blessed them with a son, sayyidina isma’il (…………) Allah then commanded him to take his wife sayyidina hajrah (……………) and their infant son to some other place.
He took them to the desert of the Arabian Peninsula, to the valley of makkah. It was then a total wilderness, there being no kind of greenery and no water whatsoever. He left sayyidah hajrah (……….) there and began to return. She asked him, “where are you going, leaving us in the valley?” he gave no reply. So, she understood that was a command of Allah and she asked him if that was so. He said, “Yes.” She said with certitude, “then Allah will not leave us alone.” He raised his hands and prayed:
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………-)
“Our lord, surely I have made some of my progeny to dwell in a valley uncultivable, near your sacred house. Our lord, that they may establishsalah so make the hearts of some of mankind to yearns towards them and provides them with fruits that they may give thans.”(surah Ibrahim, verse 37)
Thereafter, sayyidina Ibrahim (………….) used to visit them now and then. When allah bestowed enough provision, etc. to live comfortably, Ibrahim (…………..)Was satisfied.
He loved his son sayyidina ismail (……………..) tremendously as any father should love his children. They look forward to the day when their children will share the burdens of life with them.
Allah decided to try his khalil. Hence, he showed sayyidina Ibrahim (…………………..)A dream in which sayyidina Ibrahim (…………………..)Slaughtered his son, sayyidina ismail (……………………) he woke up worried because his dream was a revelation from Allah by which he must abide. So, he accepted this command willingly and he told ismail (……………) that he had seen the dream and asked him what he thought of it. Like father, the son too had a perfect faith in Allah. Without hesitation, he said to his father that he must do what he was commanded and he would find him patient. This may be found in surah saffat verse 102.
Sayyidina Ibrahim (…………..)Took his son sayyidina ismail (……………….) to the desert outside the city the devil thought that he might arouse paternal love in sayyidina Ibrahim(………………….)and got him to disobey allah. Among other things, he told him that he had only seen a dream. Sayyidina Ibrahim (………………) picked up pebbles from the earth and hit him. He did it seven times and he fled disgraced.
The devil did not give up. He then turned to sayyidina ismail (…………) and told him too that his father had only seen a dream on which he would slaughter him. Sayyidina ismail (…………………) was through his device and he too struck him seven pebbles one after another.
The devil still had a move. He went to sayyidina ismail’s (…………………..)Mother, sayyidah hajrah (…………………) he pleaded with her to save her son. But, she was confident and could not disagree with Allah’s revelation and his command. So, she to hit him seven pebbles and said, “O accursed devil, go away.”
When sayyidina Ibrahim (………………) was on the verge of using the knife which he had placed on his son’s throat, he heard someone call:
(…………………………………………………)
O Ibrahim, you have indeed fulfilled the vision. Surely thus do we recompense the good-doers.” (As saffat verses 104-105)
THIS was Allah’s voice sayyidina Ibrahim (………………….) saw that hadrat jibril(……………) had brought a full, fat ram. And he heard a voice call again to him:
(……………………………………………)
“And we ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice.” (As saffat, verse 107)
Sayyidina Ibrahim (…………………………) took the ram and slaughtered it in place of his son. This made it clear that he had a firm resolve, a strong faith in allah and a submissive heart to Allah in all circumstance. He could notdisobey Allah at all. His son, sayyidina ismail (……………..) Was of the same nature

PROPHET YUSUF

stories of the quran for the children

PROPHET YUSUF
PROPHET IBRAHIM (………………) had two sons, ismail (…………………|) and ishaq (…………….) the latter had a son ya’qub (………….) who had twelve sons, sayyidina yusuf (…………………) was one of them. In his childhood days,
Sayyidina yusuf (……………) saw a dream one night that eleven stars, the sun and the moon prostrated to him. He mentioned his dream to his father, sayyidina yaqub (…………….) who interpreted it to main that sayyidina yusuf (……………) would attain a hive rank and his brothers would be subordinate to him. He advised his son not to disclose his dream to anyone, not even his brothers lest they become jealous of him.
Sayyidina yusuf’s (………………..)Brother had observed that their father had more love for yusuf(…………….)and his real brother bin yamin so they were jealous of both of them, particularly of sayyidina yusus(………..)Whose mother rahil had died when sayyidina yusuf (………….) was very young. One day, these brother conspired to kill sayyidina yusuf(…………….)or throw him out somewhere to divert their father’s attention towards them. And they proposed to be righteous thereafter. (surah yusuf, verses 9)
The eldest of them suggested that sayyidina yusuf(……………)was yet a young child and had committed no wrong. If they had to do something then
They might throw him in the well of bait umaqdis where some passing caravan might bring him out.
They agreed to the suggestion and requested their father to send him with them that they might play sayyidina yaqub (…………………)was apprehensive lest they hurt sayyidina yusuf (…………………)intentionally or unintentionally, and a wolf they devour him if they left him alone, but when they assured him that they would take care of him he gave his permission .
They went out far from home, and got him to take off his shirt. Then threw him down the well they smeared the shirt with blood and came home in the evening pretending to weep and said, “O father, we made Yusuf sit by our garments and engaged in a race. When we returned wolf had eaten yusuf.”sayyidina ya’qub (…………………..)Was much grieved but was sure that they were lying.
Their Allah had made sayyidina yusuf (…………………) peaceful and composed. Meanwhile, a caravan proceeding to Egypt halted their and one of them lowered a bucket into the well draw water. Sayyidina yusuf (……………………) clung to the bucked and emerged from the well. The man was overjoyed on seeing the child. He took him along and when they reached Egypt, he sold sayyidina yusuf (…………….) to the Aziz of Egypt who was its finance minister. He observed that sayyidina yusuf (……………………) had a noble descent and god character. He advised his wife, zulykha, to treat him kindly. He grew up their care till he was a handsome strong young man. The wife of the Aziz found him attractive and tried to seduce him, but he always kept his gaze lowered. One day, she shut all the doors of the chamber and invited him to commit sin but he rejected her advances vehemently, saying that the wrong-doers newer prosper. (surah yusuf, verse 23)
He refrained from disobeying Allah and from returning the favors of his master with evil as he tried to get out of the palace, she pulled his shirt and tore it off and as he came out of the door, the Aziz was their she concealed her fault and put the blame on sayyidina Yusuf (…………..) accusing him of having evil intentions with her. He defended himself. Saying that she had tried to seduce him A witness from the woman’s family suggested that they should look at sayyidina Yusuf’s (………..)Shirt. If it were torn from the front then she spoke the truth and Yusuf (………..)Was a liar otherwise she was a liar and Yusuf (……………………..)True the shirt was torn from behind. So the Aziz realized that his wife was accusing sayyidina Yusuf (……………..) falsely and he requested sayyidina Yusuf not to disclose the incident to anyone. And he said to his wife that she should seek forgiveness for her sin. However, the news spread out the city and the woman gossiped about it. So, the wife of the Aziz decided to invite the woman to her palace. All of them were presented fruit and knife each.
Then she, invited sayyidina yusuf(……………) to come out to them. When they saw him, they were bewitched by his beauty and their diversion; they cut their fingers instead of the fruit, exclaiming, “He is not mortal but an angel!”
She told the woman that he was the one for whom they had blame her. If he did not respond to her invitation, then she would have him imprisoned. Sayyidina Yusuf (……………) heard her and prayed to Allah to keep him safe from the woman’s seduction, saying that prison was dearer to him than that to which the woman invited him.
So, the Aziz decided to imprison o curb the mischief him in order from spreading. There were two other men in the prison. The king’s wine-server andtheking’scook. Both of them dreamt a dream each. The wine-server related his dream to sayyidina yusuf (……………..)In the prison that he was carrying wine and the cook narrated that he was carrying bread on his head from which birds ate. They requested him to say what their dreams meant sayyidina yusuf(…………………..)Seized the opportunity to first preach to them and to impress on them the terrible consequences of disbelief and polytheism. Then he told the wine-server that he would be hanged and wild birds would nip at his flesh.
Then, he requested the wine-server to tell the king that he was imprisoned unjustly. This men was re-installed as a wine-server but he forgot to mention sayyidina Yusuf (………………….) to the king.
One night the king had a dream that seven lean cows ate up seven fat, healthy cows and he also saw seven dry ears of corn and seven green ones. This caused him anxiety and he asked his associated to interpret the dream for him, but they decided that it was gibberish imagination. The wine-server remembered sayyidina yusuf(………………)suddenly and, with the king’s permission, he met sayyidina yusuf(…………………..)And asked for an interpretation of the king’s dream sayyidina Yusuf (…………………) said that there would be seven years of abundance and surplus of everything followed atseven years of drought and scarcity of food. Again, there would be heavy rain and prosperity he advance them to grow much crop during the fertile years and store produce the dry the years so that they may draw up upon the crop when they needed it. The wine-server reported that to the king who recognized sayyiydina Yusuf’s (……………) ability and gave orders for his release that he might employ him as an adviser. However, sayyidina Yusuf (…………………) refused to come out of the prison unless his innocence was confirmed in the matter of the wife of the Aziz he asked the king’s courier to find out the truth about the woman who had cut their hands. (Verse 50, surah yusuf)
The king commanded the woman and asked them for the facts. They testified that sayyidina Yusuf (………………….) was innocent and the wife of the Aziz made a confession.
When the Aziz learnt of sayyidian Yusuf (…… …….) innocence, he ordered that sayyidina Yusuf (……………..) should be set free honourablry and he appointed him his minister of finance. Suddenly, there was blessing everywhere in the country and there was surplus production for seven years, and prosperity all round. Then there were seven years of drought engulfing all the territories from Egypt to kin ‘an where his brothers were domiciled. During these lean years, his brother brought all their possessions and come t Egypt to buy provision. Sayyidina Yusuf (………….) recognized them when they come to him, but they did not recognize him and cold not expected to imaging that sayyidina Yusuf (………….) could have resin so high from the depths of the well. Sayyidina Yusuf (……………………) received their payment and instructed them to being their brother Binyamin when they come again to buy the provision. He was his real brother. He also instructed his servant to put their money back in their sack.
They returned home to their father and told him that they will receive provision again only if they took Binyamin along. Sayyidina yaqub (………………………) remembered the case of sayyidina yusuf (…………………) and refused to send Binyamin with them.
When they unpacked their sacks, they found their money returned to them. They informed their father of this and assured him that they would take care of Binyamin. He was convinced and gave his permission. They come to sayyidina yusus (………………..)Who devised a way to keep Binyamin with him and disclosed it to him. After giving them their provision, he put the king’s measuring cup in Binyamin’s sack. When they had departed, a crier announced that the king’s measuring up was stolen. The punishment of that in those days was that the thief was given. As salve to one whose property he had stolen. The search for the measuring up ended when Binyamin’s sack was opened him and it was located there. So Binyamin was detained. The brothers were worried how they would face their father. They pleased with sayyidina yusuf (……………………….) to detain one of them in Binyamin’s stead, but sayyidina yusuf (……………..) said that it was not possible to do so.’
Dejected, the brothers returned to their father and reported to him what had happened. But he did not believe the, saying that they had contrived it up. He was grieved for sayyidina yusuf (……………….) and he wept much so that he lost his eyesight and when his children comforted hi, he said that he complained of his anxiety only to allah and he knew of Allah what they did not know. He asked them to Egypt and search for sayyidina yusuf (…………………) and his brother.
They went there and met sayyidina yusuf (………………..)Again, but, of course, they had not recognized him. They requested him to be kind to them and be charitable. At this point, he asked them if they remembered what they had done to sayyidina yusuf (…………………….) and his brother. They recognized him at this stage and asked him if he was sayyidina yusuf (……………….) he confirmed that he was and Binyamin was his brother and that Allah had favored them him he rewards the god-fearing and the patient. Their faces displayed fear and regret, and they apologized. He forgave them and gave them his shirt with instructions to put it on his father’s face that he might come with his sight restored.
They departed from Egypt for kin’an even while they were on the way, their father told those around him that he could perceive the scant of sayyidina yusuf (……………….) when they reached home, they gave sayyadina yaqub (……………) the good news of sayyidina yusuf(…………….) and but his shirt on his face, he regained his eyesight. He remained them that he had been telling that he knows about Allah what they did not know. They sought his forgiveness. He forgave them.
Allah of them then went to Egypt. Sayyidina yusuf (………………..)Received them warmly and gave an elevated sitting place to his parents and requested that they should stay in Egypt.
They brother prostrated before say idina yusuf in gratitude. This was, indeed, the realization of his dream and he confirmed it to him fat her, sayyidina yaqub (…………………..). (surah yusuf, verse 100)
Ten he praised Allah:
(……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….)
“O MY LORD, you given me power to rule and taught me the interpretation of saying. Originator of the heavens and the earth you are my protector in this word and the hereafter. Make me to die a muslim and join me with the righteous.” (surah yusuf, verse 101)

ABOUT QARUN
(KORAH)
ALLAH SAYS:
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….-)
“SURELY QURAN WAS OF THE people of musa but he oppressed them. And we gave him treasures such that the very keys of them would have weighed down a company of men endowed with strength. (Recall) his people said to him, “exult not, surely Allah loves not the exultant. And seek the abode of the hereafter by means of what Allah has given you, and forget not your portion of this word, and do good as Allah has done god to you and seek not mischief in the land. Surely Allah loves not the mischief- maker.” (surah al qasas, verses 76, 77 )
Quran was men of banu isra’il. He ivied during the days of sayyidina mosa (…………..) Allah had bestowed many favors on him; he had given him plenty of bounties and abundant properties and riches, so much so that even strong men were unable to carry the keys to his treasures.
He had plenty of horses and other riding animals. There were many servants to attend to him and guard him. The reins of his beast were decorated with gold and silver that shined brightly in the sunlight, dazzling the eyes of the looker.
Instead of being grateful to Allah, he was disobedient and very haughty. Indeed, some of the righteous learned men of banu isra’il advise him to help the poor and needy and shun arrogance, but he ridiculed them and went deeper in error, he boasted that he had accumulated wealth only because of his own ability. He disowned that Allah had destroyed people in the past who had more wealth and knowledge than him. Some weak people devoid of knowledge of Allah’s wisdom commented some, “would that we had as he has! Indeed, he is very fortunate.” But, those who had perfect belief corrected them saying “the reward from Allah is better for one who believes and dose righteous deeds. Only the patient can achieve this.”
While Allah gives respite to the wrong-doer, he is the compeller, over powering lord and he is sure to take retribution. Hence, he gave the command to the earth that it should swallow Quran his properties and wealth. When this happened, there was no sign of Quran.
The people realized, on seeing this, that Allah had given the bounties to Quran to test him.
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………-)
“And those who had coveted his place the day before were saying,” ah! Allah outspreads the sustenance for whomsoever of his servants he will, and he straitens it. Had not Allah been gracious to us, he would have made us to be swallowed too. Ah! The disbelievers do not prosper. “
(suarh al qasas verse 82)

SAMIRI AND THE CALF
ALLAH says in the quran in surah ta ha, verses 83 to 85:
(………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………-)
“And what has made you hasten from your people, o musa?” he said, “they are close upon my track, and I hastened on to you, my lord, that you might be pleased. “He said, “surely, we have temped your people after you, and the samiri has ied them astray
After Allah brought the banu isra’il to the other side of the sea safely and rescued them from to Sinai, the desert, a total wilderness. There was not even a tree to provide them shadi, and no food whatsoever. They began to die from hunger, thirst and heat. Then Allah had mercy on them and sent the cloud to provide shade to them and he sent down to them mana and salwa to eat. Then Allah revealed to sayyidina musa (……………….) that he should strike his staff at the rock opposite to him so that if would emit twelve springs for the twelve tribes of the banu isra’il Allah told him that he would reveal to him the torah for the banu isra’il to receive guidance from it and succeed in world and the next. He appointed for him forty nights in which to worship Allah and keep fast to gain nearness to Allah. So, sayyidina musa (…………………..) spent these night on the mount tur in the sacred valley. He left behind his brother sayyidina haron (……………………) to look after the banu isra;il during his absence so that they may not go astray.
There, he got the torah inscribed on the tablets. Allah told him afterwards that his people were subjected to a trial. Samiri had misled them by making a golden calf and fooling them into worship of it. People no longer worshiped Allah, but they worshiped the calf.
Dear children! Samiri waited for sayyidina musa (………….) to go. Then he, took from the banisra’il their gold, melted it and molded it into a calf in which he made two holes, one behind it and one at its nose. When wind went through one hole out of the other, it made a sound resembling a calf’s moo. This contraption fooled the banu isra’il who began to prostrate to the calf. Hazrat harun (…………….) told them that they were misled while their lord was ar-rahman (the compassionate) but they asserted that they would not abandon their ways till sayyidina musa (……………) came to them.
Allah permitted sayyidina musa (…………..) to return. When he found them in their evil ways, he flew into a terrible rage. He put aside the tablets and held sayyidina harun (……………….) by the hair on his head and beard asking him why he did not stop them. He said that he was afraid lest they divide into two groups, one flowing him and the other following samiri. Sayyidina musa (……………..) then turned to samiri and took him to task for doing as he did.
Samiri said that his self had made it seem good to him. He had no regrets whatsoever. So, sayyidina musa (………………..)Expelled him from the banuisra’il and told the people that they should severe ties with him and never speak to him till death. As for the calf, sayyidina musa (………………….) put in the fire to burn down to ashes which he threw in the sea. In this way He impressed upon the calf-worshippers that their god could not defend itself, how could it be expected to help others As a result, they repented and came back to the straight path. However, Allah did not forgive them merely because of their regret. He said that his with would overtake them and they would suffer humiliation in this world. Allah decreed that they should kill each other to qualify for forgiveness from Allah. So, sayyidina musa (……) announced to them that since they had done the wrong, they must kill each other to earn Allah’s forgiveness.
So, they began to kill each other and a large number of them were slain. This was punishment that they had invited on themselves. Allah says:
(………………………………………………………….-)

‘And Allah wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves.”(surah an-nahal, verse 33)

THE COW OF THE BANU ISRA’IL

IN THE times of sayyidina musa (…………..)There lived a very rich man who was extremely stingy and greedy. Others apart, he did not spend on himself too. He had no children of his own but he had very poor and needy nephews. Hunger and poverty had driven them to desperation. They resided near him and served him in the hope that he would have compassion on them, but he was unmoved they could meet him very seldom.
These young men prayed for his early to be able to receive inheritance from his legacy. One of them was evil by nature and the devil had shown him illusions with his uncle’s wealth. So, he conspired to kill him and get his wealth, and one night he entered his house and slew him and threw his body on the thoroughfare. When people assembly around the boo body in the morning, this young man was there too and he shrieked and wailed and demanded punish- mint of the murderer. People began to dispute and accuse each other till an old man suggested that they should approach sayyidina musa(………….).
He heard them and prayed to Allah who commanded him to get the people to slaughter a cow and throw a portion of it on the corpse who will then arise at Allah’s command and name his murderer. They thought that sayyidina musa (…………….) was joking with them, but he assured them that he sought refuge in Allah from such a thing. Then they asked him to describe the cow. Since they were hesitating the demand on them became stiff. He said that the cow must not be old and not a virgin either. But they again asked, “What color? He said, “Golden yellow, bright colure that delights the beholder.” They did not stop but asked for a further description and they were told that it should be a cow not broken to plugging the earth or watering the tillage, a sound one, without a blemish on it.
Since they sought details, Allah made it very default for them and placed conditions on the kind of the cow. It became difficult to find a cow of this description. After much exertion they managed to find one matching this description.
However, its owner refused to sell it until they offered him a very large sum of money for it. They bought and slaughtered it and hit the corpse with a portion of it. The man got up on his feet and blood oozed from his wound once again. People were stunned. Sayyidina musa (…………….) stepped forward and asked the revived man, gathering courage to do so, “who had killed you?” he did not say anything but oointed towards his nephew. Then, he fell down on the ground with a thump and returned to his state of death. In this way, Allah let them see that he revives the dead. Allah says in surah al-baqrah verses 72 and 73:
(……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..-)
“And recall you slew a man and then you disputed concerning it. Allah was to disclose what you were hiding so, we said, “smite him with a part of the sacrificed cow thus Allah brings to life the dead and he shows you his signs that you may understand.”

PROPHET MUSA (…………..) AND PROPHET KHIDR (…………….)
SAYYIDINA musa (…………) exhorted the banu isra’il to obey Allah and to observe taqwa and an adherence to the shari’ah. They listened to him with rapt attention and when he finished, one of them asked him, “Who is the most learned of men? He said promptly, “I”. Allah censured him for this answer and asked him how he had acquired his knowledge. He said that he ought to have attributed all knowledge to Allah he also informed him of one of his slaves, living at the junction of the two seas, as more learned than sayyidina musa (…………..)And he should meet him.
Ssayyidna musa(………….)regretted his haste and set out to meet sayyidina khidr (………………..) he took along a young servant too. Allah had instructed him to carry a fish with him (in his basket) and the place where the fish escaped was the one where he would meet the man.
When he was at the junction of the two seas, he felt drowsy and he fell asleep. It began to rain and some of it fell on the basked. The fish revived when some drops of water fell on it and its way out of the basket into the sea.
When he awoke, sayyidina musa (…………….) and his servant resumed their journey. After a little while, he felt tired and hungry, so he asked his servant for his food . it was then that the youth remembered that the fish had jumped into the sea. He had forgotten to speak of it earlier. Sayyidina musa (…………….) retraced his steps with his servant because that was where he was to meet sayyidina khidr (……………) there he found a lean man with deep set eyes, his face reflecting taqwa. Sayyidina musa (………………..) said, “assalam-u-alaikum, o slave of Allah!” sayyidina khidr (…………………) said, “wa-laikum us lam, o musa prophet of banu isra’il.” Sayyidina musa (…………………) was amazed. He asked, “How do you know me?” he said, “that Supreme Being informed me of you who informed you of me o musa, what is it that you want?” he said, “I have come to learn from your knowledge.
At that moment a bird divan down and touched, the water with its beak. Sayyidina khidr (……………) asked, “Do you know what this tiny bird has to say?” sayyidina musa (……………) requested him to enlighten him. He said that it says, “o khidr, your knowledge and the knowledge of musa compared to Allah’s knowledge is like the water in my beak compared to the water of the sea. “ sayyidina musa (……………..) then requested him to permit him to follow him that he might teach him from what he know of the guidance.
Sayyidina khird (………………) said that sayyidina musa (…………….) would have to show patience which he could not do, because he did not possess that much knowledge and experience. He would regard his doings as a mistake unless he know the reason of itsayyidina musa ((((……………) however, assured him that he would be patient obedient. Syyyidina khidr (…………….) said, “if that is so, then you must not ask me about anything till I disclose to you the reasoning.”
They continued to stand at the sea shore. A boat passed by. When sayyidina kgidr (…………..) gesturedto it, it stopped and he (and sayyidina musa-…………) boarded it. Sayyidina khidr (……………) plucked out one of its planks letting water inside and the boat seemed to drown. Sayyidina musa (………………..) could not restrain himself and asked, “Would you drown these people? What a thing to do?” sayyidina khidr (………….) reminded him of his assurance not to ask about anything he did, sayyidina musa (………………..)Regretted his mistake, saying, “do not seize me for what I forgot ……….” Then, the three of them alighted from the boat. They walked towards a township nearby Sundly, sayyidina khidr (………………) caught hold of a young boy playing with other children and suffocated him to death. Sayyidina musa(………………..) again lost his patience and asked about it in wonder. Sayyidina khidr (…………………..)Looked at him enquiringly and smiled. Sayyidina musa(…………………) again regretted his conduct and assured him that if he committed the mistahe again then he may part with him.
When they came to the township, sayyidina khidr (………………………) asked the people for a meal as their guests, but they refused to play host. Then, sayyidina khidr (………………..)Saw a well about to collapse. He repaired it to stand erect. Sayyidina musa (……………..)Said, “You could have asked for wages.” Sayyidina khidr (……………) said, “This is the parting between you and me. I shall inform you about what you could not endure with patience.” Then, he told him that the boat belonged to some poor people who worked at the sea. A cruel king was given to confiscate property of the subject. But, he would not take a defective thing this was a concealed mercy towards the poor.
As for the by, he was rude and disobedient while his parents were pious and righteous. He could have made their life miserable as a disbeliever and wicked man. So, Allah he killed him at Allah’s command. Allah was trusted to give them a pious and good child, instead.
As for the wall, there was a treasure buried. Underneath it belong to orphan children. Their father was very pious so, he he repaired the wall for them that their treasure might be preserved for for theb. He added, “I did not do it of my own Accor. “It was Allah’s command. This was the interpretation of what sayyidina musa (……………) could not bear patiently.
(These are form verse 65 to 82 of surah al-kahf)
